A beautiful morning.

Computing. Preparing sleevenotes for Islands & corresponding with the potential literary agent for Dear Andrew.

The Minx is off to inspect a local recording studio for possible use to The Humans’ upcoming second album.

Down to the Bredonborough Police Station at 14.30 to provide a statement of complaint re: the recent break-in to our garden shed. There are two known perps, and one is in already prison. So I was told, my statement will allow for the arrest of Perp Two.

Back down the High Street to unexpectedly meet the Minx unexpectedly, on the pavement by the Market Square. What a wonderful simple pleasure! Meeting your Wife while out shopping & taking car of local business in town.

18.20 We now have two current disputes with Universal, both relating to Universal acquiring other companies. Our second dispute with Sanctuary UMG is now running, and their Second Tier Lawyer (aka Mr. Most Useless) is as useless in coming forward as ever to clearly explain their unlicensed use of Epitaph on an ELP compilation. The second, and more serious concern, regards uncollected, unpaid & unreported publishing royalties from the takeover of Sony-BMG. BMG was one of the recipients of my legal action in the Endless Grief dispute. The mind-boggling incompetence of the US BMG operation even boggled the London BMG office (this now in 2003) which was seemingly unable to control the American office. The acquisition of BMG Publishing by Sony also failed to increase effectuality & accountability. Now, with the UMG takeover, effectuality & accountability & transparency are less than at any time in my dealings with this sorry lot. Regrettably, this one isn’t going away.
